A little about me: I have never met an animal that I didn’t like. When I think back to my childhood, we always had beloved pets. Growing up in a large family, with each child wanting their own pet, there were many to love on. We were fortunate enough to have parents who were patient enough to allow us to have dogs, cats, horses, and at one point, even a duck. In my eyes, these animals were not just pets. They were very much part of my family. Now many years later, in adulthood, my love for animals has not waned. I always knew that I would have pets of my own. My husband and I currently have three cats and a dog we recently adopted from—a local shelter. I have always wanted a pet pig, but I promised ( in my wedding vows) that I would settle for simply pet sitting someone else’s pig.
Two of my favorite things are children and animals, so it seemed only natural that after working with children for the past thirty years teaching and nannying, it was time to follow my dream of opening my own pet sitting business.
As a pet parent, I understand how important it is to find the best person whom you can trust not only with your animals but also in your home. What sets us apart is our integrity, excellent communication, and genuine love for taking care of your pet. We look forward to getting to know you and your pets.

About Matt: Hi, I’m Matt, Rachel’s business partner, backup pet sitter, and husband. I am a Bay Area native, born and raised in San Francisco.. I have always loved the outdoors, especially hiking, and have been fortunate to wander through some pretty fantastic trails in the greater Bay Area. Growing up, my family always had very loving but independent indoor/ outdoor cats. I loved having cats and knew that when I was an adult, I would carry on that tradition. About eight years ago, I adopted a senior dog from a rescue in San Francisco, and it was one of the best decisions of my life. Homer and I spent eight fantastic years together. During that time I realized how important it is to find the perfect pet sitter.
Rachel watched my dog and two cats as well as my house while I was away for five days. She sent me videos of my pets everyday. They always looked like they were loving life. The house was immaculate when I got home. All of of communication was perfect. I will definitely call her again. She’s wonderful.
Rachel was wonderful with our senior dog! She went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and having a good time. She took our dog on hikes and walks around the neighborhood. She sent update after each visit on how he was doing. I felt very confident leaving our dog with her and will definitely have her back next time we’re out of town. She even took in mail and packages! Rachel is punctual, professional, responsive and excellent at what she does. Highly recommend!
Rachel is so caring when taking care of our dog Archie. She always brings him treats and loves on him like he was her own fur baby. She is responsible and I feel comfortable giving her the code to the house to walk Archie when we are not at home. She always sends us pictures of their adventures of the day. We love Rachel.
Best pet sitter ever! Our, finicky older cat loved Rachel as did we. She watched Henry many times and bonded with him almost instantly. We received daily updates with photos and / or videos. I know Henry enjoys being watched by Rachel and we feel confident traveling knowing he’s well tended. Rachel is responsible, kind and a lovely person. We highly recommend her.
Other People’s Pets has watched our babies on multiple occasions. We have an eccentric group of pets and Rachel jumped right in to learn how to take care of them while we traveled. Know your pets will be loved and watched over while you are away. The Midwest misses OPP.
Rachel is a natural with animals. One of our dogs is a high energy breed that is not easy for all pet sitters to handle. Rachel is absolutely fantastic with him. She makes sure to give our dogs lots of quality time each time she visits, with plenty of attention and exercise. We love Other People’s Pets!
